Meet Jim von Maur! Jim is the President of Von Maur.
Q: Tell us about your background with Von Maur.
A: “My Great Grandfather was the co-founder of “Harned and Von Maur,” which eventually became what we know today as “Von Maur.”  It has remained a family owned and operated store ever since the beginning.  I started on the sales floor selling shoes, then went into personnel at SouthPark, buying in Men’s Sportswear, and then Store Manager of our store in Omaha.  I have been President since 2001.”
Q: Why did you choose a career with Von Maur?
A: “There are the obvious reasons why I considered Von Maur, but the main reason was I could see the company was on a very exciting growth pattern.  When I first joined, we were just opening our largest store in Chicago, and from there, we would be taking our concepts nationally.  I wanted to be a part of that challenge and continue our legacy of excellence.”
Q: It’s officially summer! What are you looking forward to most?
A: “Spending some quality time with my family before they go back to school.”
